"Limited Edition" refers to the fact that there is only a certain amount, or "limited" number of serigraphs printed of a specific piece of artwork.  After the edition is printed, all of the original artwork and screens used to make the print are destroyed or effaced.  This ensures that no additional prints of this image will be made in the future.  This is the opposite of an "Open Edition," where public demand determines the number of pieces included in an edition.

The limited life of the stencil prevents unlimited editions.  Additionally, variables in the process of hand-pulling serigraphs mean that each individual serigraph is slightly different from each other serigraph in the edition.  Minor deviations in color registration, paint distribution, and variations yield individual pieces that are truly "one-of-a-kind" or "original."

Rick Rush's painting, "The One and Only," depicts the 1983 game against the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Oklahoma Sooners. The action in the painting has Heisman Trophy winner Mike Rozier carrying the ball. In this 28-21 victory against Oklahoma, Nebraska earned their third straight Big Eight title, had an undefeated regular season, and earned a chance at the national championship. Nebraska won this battle against arch rival Oklahoma with the terrific threesome of Mike Rozier (#30), Turner Gill (#12), Irving Fryar (#27), and with superior defense. During the 1983 season Mike Rozier broke several records including most rushing touchdowns (29) and the highest average per carry (7.16). During his time at Nebraska he was also able to score against his major rival, Oklahoma. This painting represents that game winning touchdown, which made it one of the most significant of his college career.
